Portrait Photography

We are delighted that you are considering Edinburg Scenic Wetlands & World Birding Center (EWBC) as the location for your portrait photography session.  Our outdoor setting makes a wonderful backdrop for a birthday, wedding, and other celebratory photos.

EWBC's primary mission is to protect native habitats and increase the understanding of birds and wildlife.  With that in mind, we encourage you to review our full Portrait Photography Policy (below) before booking a session.

Please keep in mind the following:

• We recommend that all portrait photographers schedule an appointment at least 1 business day in advance by calling (956) 381-9922.  
• We only allow two photo sessions on-site at a time and reserve the right of refusal if the requested photo session will interfere with concurrent programs or conflict with other pre-approved photoshoot reservations. 
• Portrait Photography sessions are limited to one photoshoot per day per Photographer.   Photoshoots can be scheduled between  8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Saturdays and 1 p.m. and 5 pm Sundays.
• Photo sessions can be reserved for up to two hours, but ALL photo sessions within two hours of closing must end at least 30 minutes prior to closing.
• Commercial photographers, videographers, and filmmakers must also gain the approval of the City of Edinburg Administration. Inquiries must be submitted at least four weeks in advance. Please call (956) 381-9922 for more information.
• Shooting dates may be adjusted in the event of inclement weather; any changes must be agreed upon by our office.

PHOTOGRAPHY PASS

Portrait Photographers who wish to schedule multiple photoshoots during the year can purchase the Photography Pass. The fee for the pass is $150 for one year. Photography Pass Holders do not pay the per-session fee for groups of 15 or less. In addition, Photography Pass Holders have an option to reserve an Evening Photo Shoot between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., Tuesday - Saturday, for an additional $50 per hour, maximum 2 hours. Reservations must be requested at least 2 weeks in advance and are subject to approval.
